What About Zakat? Is It the Same?
This is a fair question and honestly, it deserves a straight answer. Zakat — well, it carries a different weight than voluntary Sadaqah. The majority of Islamic scholars hold that Zakat belongs to the eight categories the Quran specifically mentions — and non-Muslims generally do not fall within those categories.
